Dog Saves Man’s Life

Dog saves man’s life! Not the headline you hear often, but fortunately for this former Bell Buckle resident, it really did happen.⁣

A surgeon named Dr. Leland Thompson (formerly of Bell Buckle) is just driving along in his automobile with his trusty pooch by his side, when it suddenly takes a tumble. Dr. Thompson and his furry friend become trapped underneath.⁣

Fear not – the hero of the story is none other than his canine companion, a big white bulldog. He manages to wriggle free from the wreckage and immediately takes off for help. ⁣

Here’s where it gets interesting. The dog makes his way to a nearby orphanage where boys are frolicking outside. Turns out, this dog has a bone to pick with one of the boys in the group. Dr. Thompson had perfomed surgery on the boy and the dog simply didn’t care for the kid. But despite their rocky past, the dog puts aside his grudges and begs the kid to follow him back to the crash site. The boy does!⁣

Thanks to the dog’s daring rescue mission, help arrives just in the nick of time, and Dr. Thompson is whisked away to safety. The doc lived many more years thanks to that mutt!⁣

Now I just hope his wife recovered ok from the whole ordeal..
